MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY PARTIES
HAMPTONS FRAT PARTIES
This year, I'm not Christmas at some wild required-to-attend Hampton's Party at the Managing Director's house where my very attractive, older female boss is totally getting it on with one of my co-workers right in front of everyone and I already know it will be the talk of tomorrow among the junior level ibankers... at the office, an after lunch trip to Brooks Brothers, or at Lotus or Bungalow or Webster Hall or whereever the person who picked decided...
BICYCLE BOY HOLIDAY PARTIES
I'm not spending Christmas getting drunk and happy or whimsical with the khaki clad plimpton-nexts, the young and preppy editors at the Paris Review
SEX AND THE CITY - CROWD PARTIES
Sipping on godiva flavored grand marnier with a beauty editor at, say, a Conde Naste magazine on the Upper East...where a naked Elle McPherson is about to hit the runway completely covered in decadent chocolate with edible gold trimming...and the new contestants on the upcoming season of america's next top model are about to walk the runway for the first time and afterwards, Alaine Ducasse will be mingling with guests tasting his amazing and special chocolate decadance prior to the launch of his new book...
SOCIALITE PARTY
Nor am I having mimosa's and omelletes - a first time at Elaines! - where Helen Gurly Brown (int'l editor exec of Cosmo who once called me her MNBF, thus the coinage of the phrase MNBF...) or someone familiar in the corner of my eye is whispering to another person and I can't wait to read about all the people I met there in the NY Social Diary.
SIS'S UPPER EAST SIDE PARTIES - (Always the best)
My sister's very rare, very ritzy, very well thought out, perfect as a picture Upper East side Christmas bashes where everybody is having so much fun and completely gone and done by the end of the night, aunts, uncles, cousins and all -- are dancing like Uma Thurman and John Travolta did in Pulp Fiction --- and on tape. I think everyone consumed an average of and three quarters a bottle of wine at her last Christmas party! And the feeling of family togetherness is nothing short than perfect.
A GOSSIP COLUMNIST PARTY
Nor am I at one of Michael Mustow's haunts of the evening, one of 12 society parties he's hitting this night, definitely someplace swank yet old fashioned traditional are chatting amid a smittering of random celebrities, and diamond clad couples, and a few photographers from the NY post or Daily News are lingering in the background.
